I spent my weekend on this and I regret nothing. Now that I had the iterated skeleton, I could work on a halfway believable muscular structure. That must be the most piled thorax ever.

The three detail images show the superficial muscles, the median layers and the deep layers. Names are missing here, but at least I named the Photoshop layers correctly. x) More detail under the cut.
